Dear readers and friends of Amateur Chemist,
Thank you for your continued readership. Unfortunately, I will be taking leave for a while, as I need to address some life altering medical issues.
At this point I don't have an expected return date, but hope to be back in action seeing shows, reviewing bands and taking shots.

One of these days I will post pictures of some ticket stubs of shows I attended prior to 2006. Some of the many ticket stubs residing in my collection would be Queens of The Stone Age at the Troubadour in support of their debut album which was originally on Loosegroove records (an imprint of Stone Gossard from Pearl Jam).
While I cringe at the fact the album is thirteen years old, it is still one of my favorite Queens of the Stone Age albums and holds the rare distinction of being an album I can play on guitar from start to finish. I would run my tuned down Ibanez 7 string guitar through a Marshall stack to get the awesome trademark Homme buzzy tone.
Needless to say, I am beyond excited that QOTSA will be playing their debut album in its entirety on April 12th at the Wiltern Theater. Tickets go on sale this Friday at 10am Pacific time and will sell out instantly. Don't sleep on this one.

The last time the Deftones played the Hollywood Palladium was during the White Pony tour. It was an amazing show with them debuting a majority of their now classic third album.
Some of those memories will be recalled when they return to the Palladium on Friday, June 10th. Tickets go on sale tomorrow Friday, February 11th at 10am here. This show will definitely sell out.

While the rumors of Foo Fighters playing Coachella never materialized, Foo Fighters are gearing up to release their seventh studio album on April 12th and will presumably tour heavily to support its release.
If you are eager to hear some samples from the new album, I direct your attention to Foo Fighters FM and tune into 101.5 for a listen. If you keep twiddling with the dials you may find some other sonic treats.

Back in August 2010, Robin Pecknold of Fleet Foxes opened for Joanna Newsom unveiling a few new tunes. The wait to hear these new tunes will be over on May 3rd when Fleet Foxes release their second album Helplessness Blues.
Fleet Foxes stop by the Hollywood Palladium on May 7th with tickets going on sale this Friday, February 4th at 10am. Get your tickets here as I expect this show to sell out quickly.
